I´m Marianne Scheel. I´m an Illustrator and Designer based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
After many exiting years in the design world, I finally decided to follow my passion for illustration in January 2015, in combination with all the knowledge I have accumulated throughout my career as a designer.
I love to paint nature things and food. When it comes to people, I aim to capture feelings, emotions and different situations, as well as telling a little story through my illustration work. Recently I started to illustrate for children too, adapting and simplifying my realistic illustration style for the small ones.
I´m most interested in the true handmade stuff, and my preferred mediums are standalone watercolors or mixed with gouache, pencils and inks. I do use digital tools in combination with the traditional ones in order to work as efficient as possible or to give a piece the final touches for example when it comes to lettering an set up of more complex kind of works.

I´m Marianne Scheel, an illustrator and graphic designer based in Copenhagen Denmark, with an Argentinean twist due to my grand parents migration to Argentina in the early 1900´s. When I was 5 years old, I moved to Argentina with my family to my grand fathers farm on the Argentinian Pampa, the perfect spot for a child to cultivate creativity, in close contact and interaction with nature.
I have always had a huge passion for drawing and coloring since I was a little girl, and I fell in love with illustration during highschool, when I discovered my parents World Atlas book collection, with big and beautiful illustrations of our planet, plants, animals and colorful maps. I attended in drawing and painting classes from when I was 11 years old, and during my last highschool year I was enrolled in an art school. Unfortunately studying illustration in the 90’s in Argentina, didn't seem as a wise decision to make, so I turned to study Graphic Design instead.
As the country girl I was, I learned to respect, appreciate and love nature, therefore I love to paint nature objects. I also love to cook and experiment with flavours, as well as I love to draw and paint food ingredients and dishes. I aim to capture feelings, emotions and different situations when painting people, as well as telling a litle story through illustration work.
A few years ago, after many exiting years in the world of design, I finally decided to follow my passion for illustration, in combination with all the knowledge I have accumulated throughout my career as a designer. Since January 2015 I have been practicing and experimenting as much as possibly, after hours from my full time job as a Digital Designer in the magazines world.
